Coronavirus 3 - How do I access the Government money?

So, we are probably getting nudged towards total lockdown.

I am being asked how do I access the government schemes that we have heard so much about.

The best advice I can give is to visit this government website. It includes:

  • Deferring tax

  • Sick pay

  • Business rates relief

Job retention scheme of furloughed workers (80% up to £2,500.00)

It also includes information on the Coronavirus Business Loan Interruption Scheme (CBLIS) via eligible lenders that are part of British Business Bank . There are 40 eligible lenders including all the major banks. It is to be noted that Handelsbanken is not listed.

From conversations with people the banks are being inundated and can’t handle the volume, so if you need or will need cash get talking to them now and get in the queue.

I have also recently received an economic update from my favourite economist - Roger Martin Fagg. It’s already a shade out of date, but the general gist is positive.

When times are hard they will get better and when times are good they will get harder.

As previously said contact or ring me if you want to. I can’t promise to respond straight away, but I will get back to you.

Keep well, keep going and stay safe - it will get better.
